Biography
The terrorist acts of September 11, 2001 keep claiming victims as the workers sent to New York's Ground Zero become ill and die. "Debbie was one of the strongest women I ever met, which really attracted me to her," stated her husband. "She was a great mother and wife, and she did an excellent job for the New York Fire Department as an Emergency Medical Service employee," stated a co-worker.Deborah Reeve, 41, of Bronx, New York, lost her battle with cancer on March 15, 2006. After the events of 9-11-2001, Debbie was sent to Ground Zero to perform the duties of identification at the on-site temporary morgue. She was exposed to asbestos and other unknown carcinogens. Mrs. Reeve became ill with mesothelioma, a rare form of lung cancer in 2003. Her doctors determined that working at the site caused this form of cancer.Mrs. Reeve became an EMT, later training as a medic, serving fourteen years with the New York Fire Department EMS Division.She met her calling, doing a fine job at Ground Zero. Debbie's star will always shine brightly in the "City of Lights".Honored 2007
