Biography
"There should be honor given when a person dies in the line of duty while helping others." Governor Tim Pawlenty ordered U.S. flags and Minnesota State flags to be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol for a 24-hour period. This was to honor Terry Lee Pearson, an emergency medical worker who died in the line of duty."<br /> <br /> Terry Lee Pearson, 48, died in the line of duty on January 4, 2005. He was killed when the ambulance he was driving crashed into a garbage truck. Weather conditions were bad, with ice on the roads at the time of the accident.<br /> <br /> Mr. Pearson had been a volunteer emergency medical technician for Roseau Area Hospital Ambulance since 2001. He also worked with the Tri-County Ambulance. Terry helped teach CPR and was the recipient of a Golden Stork Award. Local ambulance squads, fire, and law enforcement agencies came to honor one of their own.<br /> <br /> "So many came to honor him, he would have been so proud," said a co-worker. I am so proud of this State's recognition of the work these heroes achieve."<br /> <br /> Honored 2006
