Biography
She was only 19 when she died four days before Christmas. 0n December 21, 1996, Bryans Road Volunteer EMT Tiffani Carrington died in a car accident in the line of duty when her car was struck broadside on the driver's side by a police car responding to a call.

Tiffani was attending the University of Maryland pursuing a career as a Maryland State Police Trooper Paramedic. She was certified as an EMT and ran calls between classes.

Her mother, Deborah Carrington, said Tiffani's interest in emergency medical services stemmed from an incident she witnessed."She saw a lady collapse from a seizure," Mrs. Carrington said."She came home and said, "I felt helpless just watching." She went to the fire hall the next day to ask about becoming an EMT"

During the past year, Tiffani went on more than 60 calls with the squad."I think she loved the excitement, but she did it more to give something back to the community. All of her extra time, she spent here. She loved the place," Staci Montgomery, fellow rescue worker said."This is like a family."

Tiffani was born in Washington, DC on July 29, 1977.
