Biography
Norma loved her work, and she loved helping people. She saw a need within her community and filled it with her special talent of assisting those in need of help. She was the type of person who believed age should not get in the way of what you like to do. She proved that by responding to calls at the age of sixty-four. Helping others was part of who Norma was, and she was always ready for the job.<br /> <br /> Norma Carol Lane, 64, lost her life on October 10, 1997 in an accident on her way to answer a call. She was called to transport a patient from Putnam County Memorial Hospital to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri when the crash occurred. Ms. Lane was transported by her co-workers to Putnam Memorial where it was later announced that her injuries had been fatal.<br /> <br /> Norma was an Emergency Medical Technician for Putnam County Ambulance District of Unionville, Missouri. "She was a very special person to our crew," stated Sue Crawford, Manager of Putnam Ambulance.<br /> <br /> Ms. Lane was a long-time resident of Putnam County and had worked twenty-five years for Putnam County Hospital. She was known for her love of quilting and traveling. She spent her free time with her family and church. A memorial has been established in her name.<br /> <br /> Honored 2002
