Biography
"His know level was far superior to the majority of paramedics I ever worked with and, he taught me many tricks to quicken the help someone needed. What was always paramount in his mind was ?patient care', and he wasn't going to let anything get in his way of taking care of the injured patient. He responded to help even if he was injured himself. That's just who Dan was", stated a friend.

Daniel E. Keller, 46, of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, lost his life when his vehicle was struck head-on by a driver of a pickup truck that was illegally passing slow-moving traffic. Dan had just completed a full day of medical training when the accident occurred.

Mr. Keller was an eleven-year veteran paramedic for Fayette EMS in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. He was an assistant instructor to an EMT educator at a high school, and he did so at no cost to the school system believing that the class was "that important". He had recently completed instructor courses, and was going to be an ?adjunct' instructor, teaching ACLS, PALS, and CPR. Dan believed education was the window to better patient care. He worked previously for the Medic 930 Response Unit of H.C. Frick Hospital in Mt. Pleasant, Pa.

Honored 2004
