Biography
There is always a struggle to try and understand why these things happen, and why they happen to good people. These two paramedics loved their jobs and were very caring people. One thing we can take comfort in, they died loving what they did, these two people loved being paramedics. Chastity Hope. Miller, 29, was killed when the ambulance she was riding in was struck by a moving train at a rural railroad crossing. The ambulance had stalled on the tracks as Ms. Miller and her partner were en route to an emergency call. Paramedic Miller was airlifted to Hartsville Hospital where she later died from her injuries. Her partner was killed instantly. Ms. Miller of Decatur, Alabama, was a paramedic for American Ambulance Service. She had also worked for Decatur Emergency Medical Services and Lawrence County EMS.
