Biography
"From a very early age she knew her goal, and that was to become a nurse. She loved caring for anything and everything, playing for hours on pretend nursing duties to pets, toys, and even flowers. She did not only take care of them physically, she also took care of them spiritually. She cherished her life, all aspects of it, from the outdoors to doting on her family. She took great pride at being a good nurse, liked working in the ER. Once in the field, she dreamed of becoming a flight nurse. Her life was complete once that dream was fulfilled.

Jennifer Theresa Wells, 30, of Greeley, Colorado, died in the line of duty on January 11, 2005. She was one of an aero medical team transporting a patient from Carbon County to Wyoming Medical Center. The plane crashed in a light snow on a rough, snow-covered prairie, sliding about 300 yards before stopping. Three of the medical team members perished in the accident.

Mrs. Wells worked as a registered nurse in the emergency department of the Northern Colorado Medical Center. She had taken a job at the Yampa Valley Medical Center for the summer to be near her husband.

She will be remembered for her selfless dedication and her ultimate sacrifice to others.

Honored 2006
