Biography
"Ana was known for her contagious smile," stated Pam Turner, director of Valley Hospital Emergency Services in Las Vegas, Nevada. "You could not be in a bad mood around her; she lifted your spirits with her very demeanor," stated a colleague. "Many of us are not as lucky as Ana; she found her dream career young, and lived a happy life," stated Turner. She was a good nurse.<br /> <br /> Ana Coburn, 30, was killed in the line of duty on September 7, 2002. She was part of a three-person medical team en route to a serious car crash located in a desolate mountain pass on the California-Nevada line. The medical helicopter crashed and burned a few miles from the accident. There were no survivors.<br /> <br /> Ana began her career with the Valley Hospital Intensive Care Unit in 2001. She was accepted by Flight for Life as a flight nurse later that same year. "Ana often commented how she loved her life because she loved her profession," stated a friend.<br /> <br /> Ana was a wonderful mom and a wonderful nurse. She was adored by many in the EMS, fire and police community. All three on the team worked closely together and will be missed because of their support and knowledge of care giving.<br /> <br /> Honored 2009
