| Dixie Steckelberg, 60, of Lovilia, Iowa, died in the line of duty of an apparent heart attack at the scene of a motor vehicle accident on December 18, 2003. She had completed her shift as a dispatcher for Monroe County Sheriff's Department, and responded to the crash scene as a member of the Lovilia First Responders.<br /> <br /> Steckelburg was a volunteer emergency medical technician for the Lovilia Fire and Rescue Department.<br /> <br /> Honored 2009 |
