Biography
"Stephanie loved her job; she felt successful because she had fulfilled her goals of becoming a paramedic and helping people. She was a remarkable person, always focused on what she was doing with her life. There was a boldness about her to go after whatever was out there," stated her mother. She loved her motorcycle, enjoyed hiking and took a trip to Paris by herself; she was very brave.<br /> <br /> Stephanie Waters, 27, died in the line of duty on June 8, 2008. She was the flight paramedic taking care of a critically ill patient being transported by a medical helicopter. The helicopter crashed inside the Sam Houston National Forest, taking four lives. They had taken off from Huntsville Memorial Hospital and were headed or Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.<br /> <br /> Stephanie was a graduate of Marble Fall High School. Immediately after graduating, she joined an ambulance company in Phoenix, Arizona. She worked with several local emergency service providers and served part-time as an instructor at schools around the state.<br /> <br /> Paramedic Waters will be remembered for staying focused and being passionate about life, and she was committed to helping those in need.<br /> <br /> Honored 2009
