Biography
Wade was a wonderful man who touched many lives both professionally and personally. He was born with a servant's heart and working in the emergency medical field was his calling. He had a thirst for knowledge, always setting new goals for himself, and he encouraged others to do the same. "Wade was a very bright, funny guy who loved his job. He had a passion for the company and for its mission," said Director Tim Lowe. "Wade was new to our air family, but we could see right off that he was dedicated, focused and did his job with pride and professionalism."<br /> <br /> Wade B. Weston, 38, died in the line of duty on August 31, 2008. He was part of a team aboard a medical helicopter that malfunctioned while returning to base from a fund-raising mission in Decatur, Indiana.<br /> <br /> Weston had been a flight paramedic and base manager for Air Evac Lifeteam since August of 2007. He was well known in the state of Indiana as a paramedic. He was an employee of Fayette Regional Health System for 15 years, an employee of Rush Memorial Hospital, and a former member of the Dublin Volunteer Fire Department. Wade had recently graduated from the registered nurse program and was looking forward to continuing his career as a flight nurse.<br /> <br /> Wade was a loving and devoted husband, father of two daughters, son, brother, and friend to all.<br /> <br /> Honored 2009
