Biography
"Kyle made everybody smile; he had such a passion for his job in fire and emergency medical service," stated his sister, Kelli Wilson. "We can take comfort in the fact that he died doing what he truly loved doing; he is my hero," she said. "He was such a loving son and brother; he was always making us laugh with his dancing and his silly jokes," stated a colleague. Kyle Wilson was good at baseball and softball, but his love of fire and rescue was his life. Kyle Robert Wilson, 24, died in the line of duty on April 16, 2007. EMT Wilson and his captain chose to enter a burning structure to search for victims. Technician Wilson became separated from his officer and verbally indicated he was having difficulties locating the stairs. He was pulled out of the house and several attempts were made to save him.

Young Wilson joined the Prince William County Department of Fire and EMS on January 23, 2006. He grew up in Prince William County and attended George Mason University, receiving a degree in athletic training.

"The first time I met Wilson was at a recruitment breakfast; he greeted me with a smile," stated Battalion Chief Tim Keen. It is a tragedy to lose one so gifted at his job.

Honored 2009
