Biography
Ted was always there for you. It didn't matter if you needed a hand, some words of encouragement, or even a good meal. He was there. Ted loved the outdoors. Having grown up in Louisiana, he enjoyed hunting and was an avid cook. One could find him mountain biking in the summer and skiing in the winter. A loving father and grandfather, Ted was an "extremely outgoing" person who never met strangers. He was always up to any challenge and refused to back down from his duties or even a heated political debate. A man of many talents, he was a successful business owner, salesman, developer, and pilot who received a degree in business from the University of Southwestern Louisiana.

Ted Caffarel, 59, was killed in the early morning hours of July 4, 2010, when the twin engine Cessna 421 he and fellow crewmembers, Tracy Chambers and Sharon Falkner, were operating in crashed shortly after taking off enroute to Midland International Airport. The plane crash-landed after leaving the runway and went over a ridge, caught fire and exploded. All on board, including the patient and her husband, were killed.

Honored 2011
