| Biography | |
| "Don't worry about the storms in life, because the storms bring rain. Never get too busy to play a little. Go play in that rain!" "Go play in the rain." Anyone who knew Cindy Parker knew that pearl of wisdom. When friends speak of Cindy, they speak of a beautiful person with an infectious smile and amazing attitude. A person with a great spirit and a kind word for everyone she met. A friend and a mentor. It never mattered what time of the day or night or how chaotic things were, Cindy's smile and positive attitude always showed through. People were not allowed to be in a bad mood when Cindy was around. She would make it her personal mission to cheer them up.

Cindy enjoyed SCUBA diving. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She enjoyed being with her friends and she loved the Lord. A quote of hers taken from a memorial page in her honor is testament to that: "I have great friends and God in my life. What else is there?"

On the morning of Thursday, March 25, 2010, the crew of Hospital Wing 5 received a call to transport a patient from Parsons, TN to the Jackson General Hospital. After completing the call, and with a storm quickly approaching, the crew took off to return to their base just a short flight away in Brownsville, TN. Just minutes from the base, the helicopter crashed at approximately 6:00 a.m. Cindy Parker, 48, flight nurse Misty Brogdon, and pilot Doug Phillips were all killed in the crash.

Honored 2011 |
